In order to be able to use the Canada Organic Logo and call your product certified Organic, your operation will need to be inspected and certified organic by an accredited certifying body.

Each of the certifying bodies provides information for how to become certified on their websites. Here’s a list of certifying bodies in Ontario. There are also links to each certifying body’s guide to certification on the page, to get you started. You will need to research each organization and what they offer your specific type of operation, in order to find out which is the best fit for you.

The requirements you must meet in order to become certified are outlined in the Canadian Organic Standards, and its accompanying list of permitted substances.
